(Guest Ticket) TALK: Attributes of Negative Space with Michelle Wilkie, 27th October, 5pm

Michelle Wilkie is an artist and designer of modern quilts. Quilting is a passion, driving her creativity. She works to have her quilts seen not just as quilts but as art. She experiments with a variety of modern techniques and aesthetics, though embraces Improvisation and Minimalist styles. She is also the winner of the negative space award at QuiltCon.

Michelle will be joining us to give a virtual talk entitled 'Attributes of Negative Space'.

When considering negative space, many people define it as a large area of space. I would like to discuss expanding that simple definition and think of negative space as the space between objects that can form interest or create an interaction between the positive and negative spaces that adds to an overall design. To achieve this, let's talk about some attributes of Negative Space and examples using negative space to create an interaction.
